Yes, yes and yes! We sweeten our bars with allulose. Our flavor chocolate sea salt contains low sugar from the coating. However, it is certified 'Reduced Sugar' by Sugarwise.

Allulose is a sweetener found naturally in small amounts in maple syrup, figs and raisins. Our allulose is produced from non-bioengineered corn source. Allulose has virtually no impact on blood sugar and insulin, it is low in calories and has the sweet taste you would expect from sugar.

Based on researches, the FDA recognized allulose not being metabolized by the human body the same way table sugar is. Therefore, in April 2019, the FDA released new guidelines allowing allulose to be excluded from total sugar and added sugar counts on nutrition labels. It has fewer calories, produces only negligible increases in blood glucose or insulin levels, and does not promote dental decay. Allulose is also not a sugar alcohol and cannot be listed elsewhere in the Nutrition Facts panel.

Each SIMPLE Bar's net carbs are as follows: - Walnut & Golden Spices: Total Carb (13g) – Fiber (8g) – allulose ( 2.6g) = Net carbs 2.4g - Almond & dragonfruit: Total Carb (14g) – Fiber (8g) – allulose ( 2.6g) = Net carbs 3.4g - Almond Matcha & Chia: Total Carb (14g) – Fiber (8g) – allulose ( 2.6g) = Net carbs 3.4g - Chocolate Sea salt: Total Carb (15g) – Fiber (7g) – allulose ( 2.6g) = Net carbs 5.4g
